Book publishing
Story time ...
My chapter in book publishing has seen many tales come to life. This might not be a novel in itself, but the plot is still afoot ... I have worked on many publications as a publisher, language editor, proofreader, concept designer and typesetter.

It started long before I graduated with a degree in BIS Publishing from the University of Pretoria in 2016. Growing up in a house filled with books and storytellers meant that Dean Koontz, Stephen King and Wilbur Smith were on my lips from a tender age. I have spent many a day with my cheeks pressed against books – sharpening my proverbial sword (my pen).
With a keen thirst for the written word, my linguistic prowess was cultivated in a small (but mighty) publishing house. Taught by masterful custodians of this cultural artefact (books), I spent my days meeting with authors, editing manuscripts, typesetting publications, overseeing the production of small print runs, creating e-books, cataloguing titles, book launches, calculating royalties, as well as assisting with marketing and distribution (cue Amazon, Takealot, Google Books, etc.).

My story arc followed non-fiction titles, publishing over 30 scholarly peer-reviewed monographs and textbooks. Some of the book publications, to name a few, include: Race Talk in South Africa; Craven Stories; Rands to Riches - A guide to personal finance; Xhosa and Russian Folktales; New Frontiers in Forensic Linguistics and more.

Since then, I have gone on to help (and empower) numerous authors to self publish their books, delving deeper into trade fiction, like Bloedstroom; Children of Ghosts; Charming Millionairess; Voice of the Youth; Inspired Eyes (forthcoming) and more.

My sequel? It's in development. In the meantime, have a look at some of these titles! Oh, and feel free to ask me all about them.
